The Best 4 Arab Baths in Granada
In the city center of Granada, there are 4 incredible Granada Baths, AKA Hammams to choose from.
I was lucky enough to visit Hammam Al Ándalus. Unfortunately, there are no photos allowed in the spa, so you will notice I had to use stock images.
The only Arab bathhouses in the center of the city are:
Hammam Al Ándalus
Located in Plaza Nueva
Hours of Operation Daily from 9:30 to 12:00 AM
Hammam Al Ándalus is arguably the most famous arab bathhouse in Granada. I am partial to this spa as it is the one I was able to visit!
Located in the historic center of Granada on a quiet street that I just happened to stumble upon.
I should point out I was extremely lucky that day when I got an appointment. It was completely booked out, but someone had just canceled as I was walking in.
Don’t press your luck, and book your visit ahead of time!
What you can expect inside Hammam Al Andalus Granada
Inside the Hammam, you will notice the architecture is restored in the old Mudejar style.
The entire place is lit with candles smelling of a soft aroma that helps you relax. A calming sense of peace washes over you by the time you arrive at the changing rooms.
The spa has a number of different steam rooms and thermal pools all in the traditional style. To enjoy these magnificent Arabian baths you must wear a bathing suit at all times.
Why is Hamman Al Andaulus so special?
Hammam Al Andaulus is especially unique for its changing services that align with the seasons. Nature is a big focus here at Hamman Aladaulus.

Miyah
Emerge – This service is access to the water journey of different rooms of warm pools and cold pools as well as the steam rooms for 90 minutes.
Mimma– Experience the thermal pools and steam room for 75 minutes and finish the day with a 15-minute message with the signature essential oils of the Hammam Al Andaulus.
Midra – Access to enjoy the different pools for 60 minutes accompanied by an exclusive 15-minute massage with full ritual purification on a hot stone bed for an additional 15 minutes.
BAYYAH * Arab Bath + Muscle Stretching
Bayyah 30 / 45 – Start off with a ritual based on natural soapsuds and Kessa gloves in the steam room, followed by 60 minutes in the arab baths. Enjoy 30 minutes series of assisted stretches that will help aid in your joints and mobility.
Bayyah 45 includes all that is above plus a 15-minute massage.

Al-Haram is an ancient Arab hammam that date back to the 10th century and offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into an era long past.
From its striking mosaic dome roof to its intricate tile designs, the Al-Haram bath house oozes with culture and a 500-year-old history.
What you can expect inside Al-Haram in Granada
Inside, guests can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere of a traditional Turkish bath, complete with the use of the baths in either the hot water pool or the cold water bath pool.
Get your blood circulation pumping in the steam rooms and different areas filled with aromatherapy oil for deep relaxation.
If you’re looking for a more private experience, the Al-Haram also offers massage and spa treatments in private massage rooms.
Services Offered
Public Circuits
Referred to as the “basic circuits” provides you access to the thermal area of the Hammam made up of three hot springs at different temperatures.
The basic 15 is a duration of 1 hour and 30 minutes including a free tour of the facilities of the hot and cold pools and a 15-minute massage with aroma oil essences. You will also be treated to a tea tasting in the relaxation room.
The basic 30 is the same as above but has a 30-minute massage instead of 15 minutes.
Private Circuits
The private circuits offered at Al Haram are what makes this spa stand out. Gain access to private rooms with hot water baths for uninterrupted peace and relaxation.
You will also enjoy cleansing your skin using the traditional Kessa accompanied by moisturizing Aleppo soap. Alternatively, you can also make a wrap with natural clays in this private Turkish bath inside a hot room or Lodarium.
Private circuits have the added benefit of massages in durations of 15, 30, or 40-minute massages.
Ritual Aixa
Get a tour of the different temperature hot springs and access to a private pool and steam bath with Kessa. Also included are Aleppo soap, tea, Arabic sweets, and a 15-minute massage.
Boabdil Ritual
This ritual includes all of the above with a 15-minute massage same as the Ritual Aixa, but you gain access to an additional room with natural clays.
Moraima Ritual
This ritual includes a free tour of the varied hot springs and plus a private room. Get exclusive access to a private room, hot pool, a steam room with natural exfoliants, and a 30-minute massage.
Abu Said Ritual
Tour of the warm water baths plus access to a private room. This ritual also includes a 30-minute massage, a hot pool, a steam room with Kessa and Aleppo soap, a room with natural clays, and a tea tasting.
Pomegranate Ritual
The most exclusive ritual includes your free tour of the water baths plus access to a private room. Here you will have a hot pool, a steam room with Kessa and Aleppo soap, plus a 40-minute massage with natural wraps (mud, clay, or mud).

Baños de Elvira was built during the Roman era and still standing today, these opulently designed thermal baths are a sight to behold. The use of the Roman baths was believed to be medicinal. It was said the waters had healing properties and could cure physical ailments.
Baths of Elvira are known as the best Arab bath for couples you can feel the love all around this place. The intricate artwork and architecture that adorns the walls and simply incredible.

Inside the Baths of Elvira is an array of tiled pools, inviting fountains, and spectacular Roman ruins. From the moment you step inside, you’ll be transported back in time to when emperors and rulers once bathed in the relaxing waters. There is a tranquil relaxation area, massage area, and aroma corner.

The most affordable option at the Baths of Elvira is the Basic circuit. Gain access to the hot water pools with hydrotherapy, cold water plunge pool, and the wet sauna Turkish bath. Enjoy tea, juice, fruit, and chocolates!
Thermal Circuit
If you want to enjoy everything included with the basic circuit plus a 15-minute massage, then consider booking the Thermal circuit!
Relax Circuit
The relax circuit takes the thermal circuit up a notch with a 30-minute massage and all that is included with the basic circuit.
Special Circuit in Love
This exclusive circuit is why the Elvira baths get the reputation for being the best Arab bath house for lovers.
This circuit includes a private session for a couple with an hour of water baths, massages of 30 minutes each, and a glass of cava.
Comares Palace Arab Baths
Comares Palace Arab baths are known as the Royal Arab Baths of the Alhambra. These baths are located in the Hotel Macia real de la Alhambra. The baths are a replica of the baths of the Comares Palace in the Nasrid monument at Alhambra Palace.
What You Can Expect Inside Comares Palace Arab Baths
Once you step inside the bathhouse, you’ll be surrounded by warm lighting and scents of herbs and flowers. The walls are covered with intricate tile designs in shades of green, brown, white, and blue that make for a visually pleasing experience.
The beautiful Moorish architecture and arches make the Comares Palace Arab Baths almost as visually stunning as its surrounding palace.

El Bañuelo – Archeological Site
Located in Plaza Neuva
This unique bathhouse and historical landmark from the 11th century has been transformed into a stunningly preserved historic site. You will find this incredible place next to the Darro River. There were 21 baths that once existed in Muslim Granada, El Banuelo being the oldest.

I really was able to embrace all the rooms even the cold room! The first thing I would do is go from the steam room to the warm room and then to the warm pool. After I would relax there for a while, I would move on to the hot pool, before emerging into to cold plunge pool.
The distinctive aromas wafting through the air create a truly tranquil ambiance. Combine that with the murmur of the water sounds, it’s so relaxing.
You can expect to be welcomed with a warm towel, and flip flops and then invited to recline on one of the heated marble slabs for a traditional oil massage, which helps relax your muscles and detoxify your skin.
Many places offer packages where you can move on to the hot chamber for a steam bath and scrub, which will leave your body feeling soft and clean. Finally, you can take a dip in the cold plunge pool before wrapping up with a cup of refreshing mint tea.
Whether for relaxation or special occasions, an Arab bath spa in Granada is an experience like no other. So why not treat yourself and escape to a faraway land of peace and tranquility?
